"House of Echoes" By Brendan Duffy
The Tierney family has been through a lot. Caroline, Ben, and their eight-year-old son, Charlie, are ready for a fresh start. It seems to good to be true when Ben inherits his family home. Caroline buries herself in renovations, Ben tries to write his next book, and Charlie has a chance to make new friends. All seems perfect until weird things start happening around the house. What's more concerning is Charlie's strange obsession with the woods and his change in mood. It doesn't take long for Ben to realize their old life was much better than their new.
I was so excited about this read and was SO disappointed. The whole book was a tease. The story was all over the place. How can there be so many things going on at once but seem soooo slow? House of Echoes was an overall letdown.
