Book Forty-Six

"Lady Midnight" By Cassandra Clare

Emma and Julian are parabatai which means they are forever connected to one another. Where one goes the other must follow. What one feels the other will feel. When one dies the other will die. Friends since childhood they have been through everything together, even loss. The murder of Emma's parents has never been solved. Left for dead with strange markings cut into their bodies has left their daughter hungry for revenge. Emma is a shadow hunter which means she has special skills, skills that can kill anyone that gets in her way, but it also comes with rules. Emma is prepared to betray her people, break the laws, and risk her own life if it brings her answers.

Lady Midnight has made my list of favorite YA fantasy books. This story is packed with action from the start. I loved how Clare intertwined the Fae world with our world. I became so attached to Emma's character, I was rooting for her through every obstacle and so proud that she remained resilient no matter what came at her. A thrilling adventure while I was on vacation!

So good!

Five out of five stars.
