"The Virgin Suicides" By Jeffrey Eugenides
The Lisbon sisters are naturally beautiful, adored from a distance by anyone who sets eyes on them. Their father is a teacher at the local High School and their mother a housewife. Despite being well known, no one really knows them. Due to their overprotective and sheltered life they are a mystery to everyone, making them even more desirable. When the youngest Lisbon sister commits suicide the entire town changes, secrets of what goes on behind the curtain drawn windows, destroy the sister’s reputations. Slowly the house deteriorates, the girl’s appearance change, and one by one they all commit suicide. The town will never be the same.
I really, really wanted to like this book. I was SO bored. This story is famous, and I was so excited, quickly I was disappointed. It was like whiplash the way the story jumps back and forth. It was difficult to follow the story because every view pages the topic totally changed. A total waste of time. One out of five stars.
